This brief document identifies questions that should be addressed during the development, review, and dissemination of analytic products.
This checklist document notes the importance of having a review component to ensure the accuracy and relevance of information and to ensure that privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties protections are being upheld during the development, review, and dissemination of analytic products. The 23 items on the checklist prompt personnel to consider the following categories of product characteristics: purpose; grammar; content integrity; dissemination; and review and approval, which encourages personnel to have another analyst or senior personnel review the product, and to ensure that there is an audit trail detailing the approval process. The document also provides four examples of caveats and disclaimers, as well as an example confidence statement; and it notes those components’ importance for analytic products.
